How To Explain Periods To A Young Girl
October 11th, 2011How do you explain periods to a young girl? Very carefully. Depending on the information you are going to dispense to the young lady and her ability to understand what you are going to explain to her. Everyone is an individual so each young girl will handle the details and the entire subject differently. Specific details regarding the subject matter should be aimed at the maturity of the young lady. Too much too soon could be a mistake. Too little too late could also be a mistake.
In todays’ world don’t be surprised if some young girl’s already know everything they need to know about the menstrual cycle. Still handle the subject age appropiately and answer any questions they may have. Old wives tales and myths go around like wildfire, so be sure to clear any of those funky tales right away. Young girl’s should get the information as soon as they begin to show signs of maturing, especially considering some are showing signs at a very early age.
Avoiding words such as horrible and painful is encouraged. Using descriptive words such as, uncomfortable, is more reassuring than using negative descriptions. Keep the talk on the light side and it should go fine.
